@pgknows, a reseller and Air Force 1 specialist, shared a picture of the replicas today, warning buyers that fake pairs are already on the market. There are a number of discrepancies with current fakes, including incorrectly positioned panels of Louis Vuitton’s Monogram pattern.

Although a low asking price should be enough to raise suspicions (the lowest price the shoes sold for at auction was $75,600 for a size 6.5), some buyers may be tempted by what is far and away the biggest sneaker of the year.

Since authentic Louis Vuitton x Air Force 1s haven’t been produced yet, this is a unique situation. Only one pair of shoes was made for display at Sotheby’s auction, but 200 pairs will be made and shipped to winning bidders within the first half of 2013.

Sotheby’s was the only retailer to offer this Louis Vuitton x Air Force 1 colorway. Virgil Abloh’s “Post-Modern” Scholarship Fund raised $25.3 million at the auction.
